FAQ
Q. What is wizetime?
A. Wizetime is a simple task management system. Think of it as a todo list
that 'talks back' and auto sorts your tasks by which ones you should work on first.
Q. How does it work?
A. Wizetime asks you for specific information about a task: What is it called?
When is it due? Is it hard? Is it important? Based upon the information
entered, your task list will be automatically sorted, with the top task(s) being
those you should concentrate on first.
Q. How is Wizetime better than other task lists, or a sheet of paper? What
about other time management systems?
A. While many people face problems managing their time on a daily basis, most
time-managment 'systems' out there are too complex for the average user to bother
with. Wizetime strives to be the quick-n-simple time management system that
anyone can learn to use quickly.
Wizetime task lists are always upto-date and sorted
appropriatly, including graphical indications of when a task is in danger of falling behind schedule.
And Wizetime gives you immediate feedback on your tasks as you update them, and on your current 'Load'.
Q. 'Wize Rank', what does that mean?
A. WizeTime ranks each task according to it's Pace balanced against it's priority and fifficulty. The assumption used is that given two equaly time consuming tasks, you should work on the highest priority one (or most difficult one) first.
As you update and enter tasks into wizeTime, it will re-rank your tasks as needed. Wize Rank represents the order you should work on the items on your list today.
Q. Whats
this 'Pace' field I'm seeing?
A. WizeTime calculates the amount of effort left on a task based upon the
data you entered and calculates 'Pace' - which is the number of hours a (work) day
you should dedicate towards a particular task to keep it 'on track'. As you adjust the %
complete for a task, it's Pace get updated.
Q. Whats
does 'Load' mean?
A. 'Load' (work-load) is the amount of time you should be spending working on
your tasks each day in total. When your Load is too high, Wizetime will warn you that you
should either complete, delegate or reschedule one or more tasks.
Q. What
are Labels, and how do I use them?
A. WizeTime allows you to organize your tasks via Labels.
When editing a task you can choose to associate new or existing Labels with that task.
Labels will appear in green text on the task list before the description.
You can filter your task list to only show you task with specific labels.
TIP: If you have several related tasks for a class, Label each with the class name.
Q. How much does it cost?
A. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Wizetime is completely advertisement
supported.
